Abstract

Trucks are a type of transportation that is widely used to transport cargo of good agricultural, plantation, mining and so forth. There are several variants of truck capacity that has been made by the factory. One of them is a truck with a capacity of 7.5 tons. The problem that arises is the truck is broken in the rear axle housing. With finite element method to analyze the design of rear axle housing strength which using hot rolled steel plate material with 8mm thickness and use pro-engineer software, get value for von mises stress max is 158,5 Mpa, displacement is 0,307 mm and strain max is 0,000835mm with safety factor is 5,29
