Abstract

Development methods of material selection in determination of the complexity index of the motorcycle component assembly process in the begining of initial design process is the aim of this study. Assembly process complexity index (Ciprocess assembly) is affected by the coeficient of relative complexity of the assembly process (CIproduct), which is a function of the weighted mean value of the complexity of the assembly factor (Cpart) and percentage of different part (Xp). The difficulty in assembling consists of difficulty handling process (Chf) and the difficulty of the process of insertion (Cif). The value of material (Cm) is entered into the computation complexity will affect the weight and insertion resistance attributes, different materials affect the difficulty level of the assembly process. The smaller the index level of complexity to the complexity of the assembly process of getting smaller.
