Analisis Pengendalian Cacat Produk pada Proses Plastic Injection Molding dengan Material Polyprophylene

Injection molding process in Indonesia today has been mostly done in small and medium-scale business activities. One of the problems often experienced by small and medium business this is a frequent occurrence of product defects on finished goods, to the detriment of entrepreneur from the side of the material is wasted and delay in delivery time.  It is necessary for continous quality control.  Product defect have occurred for fixed closet (part of the buffer in the toilet) based Polyprophylene. In the case of defective product, due process has not standardized parameter setting and still using trial and error. It will do an analysis to the occurrence of defective products bydevelping empirical simulation model that describes the relationship between process parameter with product defects that occur, with performed simulations using Autodesk Moldflow Adviser Software to the product by varying the value of injection pressure, injection temperature, and cooling time. The result are processed to obtain the optimum value for setting a combination of parameters investegated.   It was found that the injection pressure, injection temperature, and cooling time effect on the occurrence of product defects. For fixed closet product, it was found that the optimum setting are as follows; injection pressure (PInj) = 3.038 MPa, injection temperature (TMelt) = 240 oC, and cooling time (tCol) = 20 s.
